The Einstein Postdoctoral Individual Development Plan

Job Title:

Postdoctoral Position in Malaria Immunology, Laboratories of Gregoire Lauvau and Johanna Daily

Job Description:

We are hiring a postdoctoral fellow to investigate the adaptive immune response against malaria during natural infection to dissect mechanisms of protective immunity.  We are located at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY,
(http://www.einstein.yu.edu/microbio/home.aspx) in the Departments of Microbiology and Immunology and Medicine.

The biomedical research at Einstein drives the College growth with more than 1,900 full-time faculty members and $174 million in funding from the National Institutes of Health in 2017 (ranked 7th per Faculty nationwide), and a strong commitment to education and training of the next generation scientists, with competitive PhD, MD/PhD and MD programs.

We are seeking a highly motivated and productive scientist, with strong background in Immunology, to lead this program which will define mechanisms of immunity, through the development of antigen specific CD4+ T cell tetramers, mulrticolor flow cytometry and mechanistic work in the animal model of malaria.  This position also offers training in science education through the BETTR Program NIH funded postdoctoral training program (Institutional Research and Academic Career Development Award - IRACDA/K12) to train scientist/educators.  NIH rules restrict the position to U.S. citizens or green card holders.  The program complements a primary effort in bench research training with training in innovative teaching techniques and the experience in and guidance for hands-on teaching.  Applications from candidates with requested expertise and demonstration of a robust publication history and strong work ethic are sought.

Interested candidates should send a CV, a cover letter with a brief statement of research interests and the name and email of two references to:
Dr. Gregoire Lauvau:  gregoire.lauvau@einsteinmed.org and
Dr. Johanna Daily:  jdaily@einstein.yu.edu
