Postdoctoral Position in the Department of Genetics

Job Description:

The Genetics Department at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with three to five years experience.  The project of interest focuses on the role of oxidative stress in functional decline and tissue degeneration during normative aging.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Handle murine and human tissue collection
Extraction of proteins and nucleic acids
Perform Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and genomic instability assays
Perform protein analysis (westerns and mass spectrometry)
Perform FISH and proteomic data analysis
Prepare libraries for next generation sequencing
Interrogate web sites and perform literature search
Prepare documentation of publications in the literature for presentation at international conferences

QUALIFICATIONS:

PhD is required
Minimum two years of experience in molecular and cellular biology
Previous experience with mass spectrometry a plus
Excellent organizational skills
Working knowledge of R and basic computer programming experience a plus
Must have solid writing skills
Must have solid publication record
