Welcome to the website of the Belfer Institute for Advanced Biomedical Studies. The function of the Belfer Institute is twofold — to provide a focus for integrating all postdoctoral training programs at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and to serve as an advocate for postdoctoral issues. We have long recognized that the essential role that postdoctoral researchers play in our scientific productivity, and the success of our research endeavors at the College of Medicine, are inextricably linked to the quality of our postdoctoral colleagues. Our goal is simple…to provide the best possible scientific and social environment for our postdoctoral researchers.
The Belfer Institute is directed by a senior member of the research faculty who is responsible for overseeing the academic and “quality of life” aspects of the postdoctoral experience at Einstein. The director works closely with the College of Medicine's assistant dean for academic affairs and the Belfer Institute’s full-time administrator.
The Belfer Institute office is located on the Jack and Pearl Resnick Campus, 1300 Morris Park Avenue, Belfer Building, Room 915, Bronx, NY 10461. Its office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office can be reached by telephone at 718.430.3191, by fax at 718.430.3198 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
