mrrcGruss MRRC

Our laboratory is a component of the the Gruss Magnetic Resonance Research Center (MRRC), a 19,000-square-foot facility on the main (Resnick) campus of Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. The MRRC, first established in 2000 with a generous gift from the Gruss-Lipper Foundation, has been upgraded and outfitted with the most state-of-the-art imaging equipment, including the first Philips 3T TX MRI system to be installed in the United States, a completely renovated Varian 9.4T MRI magnet for animal imaging, and high performance computing infrastructure for faculty, staff, students, and visiting researchers.

montefioreMontefiore Medical Center

Montefiore Medical Center is the academic medical center and University Hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine. It is nationally recognized for clinical excellence, and for continuously breaking new ground in research, training the next generation of healthcare leaders, and delivering science-driven, patient-centered care.

Dr. Michael Lipton is Medical Director for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Services and an attending neuroradiologist at Montefiore. As Medical Director for MRI Services, Dr. Lipton supervises the fourteen MRI scanners operating across the Montefiore System, comprising five hospitals and multiple out-patient sites.

Much of our laboratory’s research work has been inspired by Dr. Lipton’s clinical experience, and techniques developed in our laboratory are translated to the Montefiore clinical sites for both clinical research and patient care .
