Modern globalization and rapid international travel lead to the decentralization of viral threats. Therefore, emerging and re-emerging viral diseases are of significant global health concern, and new antiviral treatments and vaccines are urgently needed to combat them. Our work guides the development of protein based antiviral treatments. We apply cutting-edge protein engineering and expression techniques in order to generate antibody and immunogen candidates. To facilitate this application driven research, we work collaboratively with partners in academia and industry as well as at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID).
