Excel Part I : The Basics

Event Description:
This workshop is the first in a 3-part series and introduces participants to the basic features of Microsoft Excel 2010 helping them to organize and present data effectively using spreadsheets. All participants will get to experience the potential that can be achieved with Excel as the instructor orients them to the Excel interface and various functions used to manage data. This workshop will allow participants to leave and be familiar with several of the Excel skills necessary to input, gather and format data for more productive use and sharing. After taking this workshop, participants will be able to:Format cells, rows, and columns; Organize data using the sort and filter features; Enter formulas and use basic mathematical functions; Save spreadsheets for use with older Excel versions

Target Audience:
Due to space constraints, participation in workshops sponsored by the Office of Faculty Development is limited to individuals with faculty appointments at the medical school. Thank you for understanding.
