Jacobi/Montefiore Surgical Critical Care Fellowship

Faculty Core Fellowship

Dr. Melvin E. Stone Jr., Professor of SurgeryDr. Melvin E. Stone Jr., Professor of Surgery*, is the Fellowship Program Director and the Jacobi Surgical Intensive Care Unit Director. Dr. Stone completed his surgical critical fellowship at University of Maryland/Shock Trauma 2001.

 

Dr. Sheldon Teperman, Professor of SurgeryDr. Sheldon Teperman, Professor of Surgery*, a graduate of the Montefiore General Surgery Program and Trauma Medical Director, since 2007, has lead Jacobi to be a major regional ACS Level 1 trauma center. He also is Chair of the Trauma Council for the 6 trauma centers within the New York Health and Hospitals Corporation—the largest municipal hospital system in the nation. Dr. Teperman has been board certified in Surgical Critical Care since 1993.

 

>Dr. Srinivas H. Reddy, Assistant Professor of SurgeryDr. Srinivas H. Reddy, Assistant Professor of Surgery*, helped successfully orchestrate Jacobi’s first ACS verification as a Pediatric Trauma Center and two ACS verifications for Adult Level 1 trauma center status. Dr. Reddy completed his surgical critical fellowship at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College 2009.

 

Dr. Edward Chao, Assistant Professor of SurgeryDr. Edward Chao, Assistant Professor of Surgery*, is the Fellowship Associate Program Director. Dr. Chao completed his surgical critical fellowship at University of Pennsylvania 2015.

 

Dr. Anna Liveris, Assistant Professor of SurgeryDr. Anna Liveris, Assistant Professor of Surgery, is a graduate of the Montefiore General Surgery Residency and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Liveris completed her surgical critical fellowship at the University of Maryland/Shock Trauma in 2019.

 

Dr. John McNelis, Professor of SurgeryDr. John McNelis, Professor of Surgery*, has been the Jacobi Chair of Surgery since 2012. Dr. McNelis has been board certified in Surgical Critical Care since 1991.
