We are excited to announce that this year, the 2018 New York City Research Improvement Networking Group (NYC RING) Convocation of Practices marks a unique partnership between the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Health System and the Montefiore Hudson Valley Collaborative (MHVC).

Established in 2003, and one of only a few practice-based research networks (PBRNs) in the US focused exclusively on the urban underserved, NYC RING is celebrating its 15th anniversary. NYCRING promotes research and quality improvement to improve outcomes for the patients we serve and enhance the evidence base for urban primary care. Over 35 practices and other stakeholders participate in NYCRING research projects.

MHVC’s is one of 25 Performing Provider Systems in the New York State Delivery System Redesign Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program. Spanning 7 counties in the lower Hudson Valley, MHVC has developed a diverse stakeholder network including hospitals, FQHC’s, primary care practices, behavioral health and substance use providers, skilled nursing facilities, and multiple community-based organizations. To date, MHVC’s focus has been on quality and process improvement across it’s network to achieve DSRIP metrics, and to support innovative pilot projects that address the social determinants of health needs of the population we serve.

Over the last several years, NYC RING and MHVC built a strong foundation for research and programming. Together, this Convocation furthers our commitment to each other and presents an opportunity for us to learn from each other, nurture new partnerships with our Hudson Valley providers, and identify opportunities for collaboration around research related to innovative care models and quality improvement paving the way towards value-based payments (VBP).

Dr Helen Bevan, OBE, is a senior leader and change agent in the English National Health Service. She is acknowledged globally for her expertise and energy for large scale change in health and care. During her 25 years as a change leader in the English National Health Service, Helen has been at the forefront of many NHS improvement initiatives that have made a difference for thousands of patients and for the staff who care for them.

Come join over 100 NYC RING participating clinicians, researchers, and investigators from throughout our partner sites as they showcase the wide variety of practice-based research and quality improvement activities being conducted, and to discuss opportunities for collaboration.

Submitting Your Work for Presentation at Convocation

We would also like to invite you to share your work with the NYC RING community, whether it’s a small quality improvement project or funded research. We are particularly interested in research conducted in multiple sites, as well as topics of mental and medical care integration and group visits. Please fill out the registration form and submit your abstract (approximately 300 words) here. You can begin and save your registration form, but all submissions must be completed by Friday November 16th at 5pm.

Below are general guidelines for:

Poster submissions:
If you have (or are going to prepare) a poster for another conference, you may present this poster at the NYC RING Convocation. We ask that you complete the registration form by Friday November 16th, 2018 at 5pm.

Storyboard submissions:
If you would like to prepare a storyboard for Convocation, please use this template as a guide for preparing your slides. Please limit your presentation to 15 slides. We ask that you complete the registration form, an abstract (directions in application), and your completed storyboard template by Friday November 16th, 2018 at 5pm. We will then print and prepare the slides for presentation in poster format.

All presentation submissions must also include an abstract (approximately 300 words).

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mariel Connolly. We are happy to help out with preparing storyboards and addressing any logistical issues in getting your poster/storyboard to the convocation.
