Amer received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at New York University, Langone Medical Center. He is currently a fellow in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and is active in clinical research as well as basic science research. His research interests include tumor immunology and immunotherapies in hematologic malignancies.
