Movement and the Mind
February 1, 2012 - While current technologies can effectively measure brain activity, tests are done in controlled environments and so do not accurately represent how the brain works in more realistic settings. Einstein's Paul Moniz talks to John Foxe, Ph.D., about his new efforts to tackle the problem using MoBI, or Mobile Brain/Body Imaging. The mobile and wireless technology allows electroencephalographic (EEG) brain-wave detection while patients are moving, allowing scientists to study the brain while it functions in a more natural environment. Dr. Foxe is professor of pediatrics and director of research at Einstein's Children's Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center. (February 01, 2012)
