Pronuclear Injection

• Individual investigators will provide the isolated DNA in a gel slice
• We will purify the DNA
• The facility produces 30 pups or 3 founders, whichever comes first
• Foster mothers will be housed for 12-14 days and then the resulting pups are transferred to the investigators's room via the Institute of Animal Studies
• Investigators must respond within 2 weeks with PCR/Southern results
• C57 embryos are injected at an additional cost, please discuss with facility director

Lentiviral Transgenesis

• Investigators must contact the facility and make special arrangements for lentiviral injection
• Investigator is responsible for making the lentiviral construct, the infection and purification of the lentivirus
• The facility will produce 30 pups or 3 founders, whichever comes first
• Investigators must respond within 2 weeks with PCR/Southern results
• Contact facility to specify strain

Vasectomy

• Investigators must inform Institute of Animal Studies of procedure that will require the removal and reintroduction of animals back into their respective animal rooms (not allowed unless given permission)
• Bring procedure candidates directly to Price Room B110
• Facility will contact you to pick up animals after completion of procedure

• Isolated sperm of males from same line will be mixed and divided into 12-14 cryogenic tubes
