On Sunday, March 25th the Student-Run ECHO Free Clinic hosted its 5th annual ECHO 5K walk/run fundraiser. The 5th annual ECHO 5K walk/run was a great success with 45 ECHO supporters participating in the walk/run and many more who came to cheer on the participants. Thanks to all those who came to the event, we were able to raise over $720 for the clinic.
The money raised will go directly to what the clinic patients rank as most important to them in terms of improving the quality of care that they receive at ECHO Free Clinic. Some possibilities include providing transportation for the patients to their clinic appointments, subsidizing referral services or subsidizing the cost of prescription medications.
We would like to thank Albert Einstein College of Medicine for helping us to provide T-Shirts and breakfast for the runners on the day of the event.
