March for Science

Approximately 300 members of the Einstein community—ranging from faculty, students and staff to senior administrators—joined tens of thousands of marchers in New York City and Washington, DC on Saturday, April 22, forcefully advocating for the importance of science. In Manhattan, the march began with a well-attended rally just off of Central Park West and finished, hours later, with thousands of people streaming into Times Square. In Washington, participants took off from 15th and Constitution Avenue NW and ended at Union Square.

Below are pictures taken by those who participated in the New York and Washington rallies and chronicled the events. The spirit of the marchers, most of whom walked under the banner of the Einstein-Montefiore Action Group, was perhaps best captured by the many signs they carried, including some that used the image and words of our institution's namesake—Albert Einstein.
