Stipend Level Policy

On December 15, 2016, the NIH issued the new stipend levels for postdoctoral fellows for FY2017.  For institutional training grants (T32, T90, TL1) and individual fellowships (F32), the minimum stipend level for postdoctoral fellows is $47,484.

Albert Einstein College of Medicine will continue to have a minimum stipend level.  Effective January 1, 2017, the minimum stipend level for Research Fellows at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine will be the DOL/NIH base minimum of $47,476.

No Research Fellow will be hired below the prevailing minimum stipend level.   Incumbent Research Fellows will be incremented to at least the prevailing minimum stipend level no later than January 1, 2017.   Mentors are encouraged to exceed this minimum stipend level commensurate with the training, expertise, and productivity of the individual. The NIH stipend schedule for NRSA fellows is a reasonable guide to postdoctoral starting stipends.
