Job Title:

Postdoctoral Position in the lab of Dr. Matthew D. Scharff

Job Description:

Our laboratory is studying the molecular and biochemical mechanisms of antibody variable region hypermutation and class switch recombination using cultured mammalian cell lines and in mice that have mutations in various repair pathways.  The role of somatic mutation and error-prone mismatch repair in the initiation and progression of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia is also being investigated.

Knowlege about antibody structure and function and gene expression in mammalian cells is desirable.  Experience in the generation of contructs and the manipulation and assay of gene expression in cultured mammalian cells is important and in the analysis of genetic deficiencies in mice would be useful.  Some computational skills would also be useful.

Applicants should contact Dr. Matthew Scharff and provide a CV, a summary of the previous research experience and the future research interest, and the contact information for three references.
