The Consultation rotation takes place at Montefiore. Daily team rounds will be supervised by one of the primary supervisors. During this rotation, the fellow will also participate in weekly Omsbudsmens Rounds on the medical floors. These are biopsychosocial teaching rounds, led by an attending and the fellow.
At different times of the year, other training activities may include a full day on the Weiler CL Service, a half day in the Stem Cell Transplant Clinic, four months on liver, kidney and cardiac ambulatory and inpatient transplantation and a half day in the Ob-Gyn Clinic.
The fellow also attends weekly AIDS team rounds with Dr. ODowd. Each fellow spends a month on the Addiction Psychiatry Service and a month on the Pain and Palliative Care Service supervised by the Palliative Care attendings. One afternoon a month may be spent acting as a supervisor to an Observed Simulated Clinical Evaluation (OSCE) program for incoming medicine residents.
