Einstein in the Media

Reuters and Medscape report on a study led by Dr. Marc Gunter in conjunction with senior author Dr. Howard Strickler, which found that high insulin levels are an independent risk factor for breast cancer, particularly among postmenopausal women who did not use hormone therapy. The findings were observed among more than 1,600 postmenopausal women participating in the Women's Health Initiative Observational Study. Dr. Gunter is an assistant professor epidemiology and population health at Einstein; Dr. Strickler is a professor of epidemiology and population health.
