RE: EINSTEIN PATENT POLICY

Federal law requires that each institution that receives federal funding have a Patent Policy and that each such institution be able to document compliance with the Policy by all individuals seeking funding from federal agencies.

Below is a link to the new Einstein Patent Policy, which is identical to the prior Patent Policy but updated solely to reflect Einstein’s new identity. I have also included a link to the Acceptance Agreement form.  Faculty members are to sign and return the Acceptance Agreement as a PDF attachment to inventions@einstein.yu.edu, or to the Office of Biotechnology, Room 908 Belfer as soon as possible. Post-docs are to sign and return the Acceptance Agreement as a PDF attachment tomaryanne.clifford@einstein.yu.edu, or the Belfer Institute office, Belfer 915 as soon as possible. For faculty and post-docs on the Einstein payroll, this is a requirement of employment at the new Einstein.

Let me point out that no application for any sponsored research can be processed by the Office of Grant Support until the Patent Policy has been accepted in writing by all Einstein employees, students and trainees named on the grant, whether or not salary is requested.

Thank you for your cooperation.
