Dominick P. Purpura Distinguished Alumnus Award: Herbert Tanowitz, M.D., class of 1967, professor of pathology and of medicine

Dr. Joshua Nosanchuk has been elected to the American Society for Cilinical Investigation (ASCI). The ASCI is an honor society of physician-scientists, those who translate findings in the laboratory to the advancement of clinical practice. Founded in 1908, the Society is home to more than 2,900 members who are in the upper ranks of academic medicine and industrial healthcare.

In the 2009 edition of The Scientist magazine's "Best Places to Work in Academia," Einstein ranked third out of 94 U.S academic institutions.

Gacser Wins Research Scholar Award for Candida Studies Dr. Attila Gacser won one of six Belfer Institute outstanding postdoctoral research scholar awards for an article published in the December 2007 issue of Fungal Genetics and Biology.
