The Department of Pediatrics at the Albert
Einstein College of Medicine pursues a mission that is multifaceted and
challenging. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality clinical
care to our patients while at the same time conducting cutting-edge
biomedical research targeting diseases that affect infants, children and
adolescents and integrating the latest scientific and medical advances
into training the next generation of pediatricians. This is an exciting
time in academic medicine, with significant breakthroughs in understanding
the molecular and cellular mechanisms of diseases rapidly being translated
into the development of innovative therapies for our pediatric patients.
Students, residents and fellows in our program, working with our diverse
faculty of outstanding basic scientists, clinical investigators, clinical
specialists, behavioral scientists and pediatricians, are integral
participants in these efforts, at both the bench and the bedside. Together
we are pursuing our ultimate mission, to further our understanding of
disease in order to improve the treatment of our infant, child and
adolescent patients.
