Obtain book (the obtained book is yours to keep) or approval of
book to be reviewed from Editor of Books or approval of chosen topic from
Editor-in-Chief. 2.
Notify Editorial Assistant of your intentions to write a book
review or editorial. 3. Read chosen book or research topic (allow three weeks). 4. Write review of chosen book or editorial topic (allow three weeks). 5.
Send manuscript to Editor of Books/Editor-in-Chief. 6.
Confirm receipt of manuscript by Editor of Books/Editor-in-Chief. 7. Allow Editor of Books/Editor-in-Chief to edit piece for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style according to the Instructions for Authors (Appendix I) and the Chicago Manual of Style or the Council of Biology Editors Manual (allow one week). 8.
Editor of Books/Editor-in-Chief will meet with Student Editor (if necessary) and provide feedback on the book review/editorial. 9.
Obtain edited manuscript from Editor of Books/Editor-in-Chief. 10.
Make appropriate revisions (allow one week). 11.
Repeat numbers 5 through 10 as necessary. 12.
Send final version of manuscript to Editorial Assistant. 13. Confirm receipt of manuscript by Editorial Assistant. |
