Einstein Marks Day for Appreciating Postdocs

On September 18, 2013, Einstein’s Belfer Institute for Advanced Biomedical Studies marked its fifth annual Postdoc Appreciation Day with a special reception for postdocs, held in the Glass Café.

At institutions worldwide, postdocs make sure that the day-to-day activities of the laboratory are carried out toward achieving the respective missions of the labs in which they work. At Einstein, 350 postdocs from around the world take on this critical role.

"While we should appreciate postdocs every day, it's nice to have a special day each year when we can informally acknowledge our gratitude for their contributions in the labs," said Dr. Jonathan Backer, director of the Belfer Institute.
