Albert Einstein College of Medicine has a long history of spirited involvement in global health. Einstein’s community of students, faculty and researchers work in countries around the world on the most pressing issues in healthcare, medicine, and science, with the ultimate goal of addressing the complex health challenges faced in our increasingly interconnected world.
The photo exhibition, "Global Vision: The Einstein Community Abroad," currently on view in the hallway adjacent to the Forchheimer lobby, displays a small sampling of the diverse experiences offered by Einstein in an effort to provide our students and affiliates with broad perspectives on health and medicine and, hopefully, a deeper understanding of the human condition. The exhibit was organized by students in the Global Health Club and includes images taken by students, faculty and professional photographer, Jonathan Wallen.
In addition, on Monday, November 5, 2012, the College of Medicine’s Global Health Center (GHC) will host a national symposium, "The Essentials of Running a Global Health Center: Sharing Best Practices and Building Partnerships for the Future," featuring leaders from throughout the global health field who will come together to share knowledge, forge collaborations and discuss best practices for global health centers at our nation’s universities and medical schools.
"Through the symposium, our goal is to bring the leadership and faculty of centers from around the country together for a day of discussing issues that we all face with the hope of sharing and learning from each other," noted Jill Raufman, program manager for the GHC. Those attending the all-day event can earn CME credits as well. For additional information or to register, visit the Global Health Center website.
