The Global Health Center (GHC) hosted a Planning Day earlier this spring, featuring presentations by GHC pilot and microgrant recipients. The Einstein community – faculty and students – were invited to participate in this event, which highlighted the Center’s progress and included a general discussion of the GHC’s future direction.
The GHC award recipients have worked on and continue to pursue interesting and innovative projects throughout the developing world. A number of presentations generated “aha!”moments, leading to the lively exchange of ideas. Presenters included Drs. Peter Klatsky, Max O’Donnell, Adebola Adedimeji, Elizabeth Walker, Adam Friedman, Kami Kim, Ilir Agalliu, Rosy Chhabra, Kathy Lubin, Alison Karasz, Roger Duvivier, Dena Goffman, David Gritz and Deborah Campbell.
At the conclusion of the event, GHC co-director Dr. Kathryn Anastos moderated a discussion about the GHC and its future plans. These include a conference hosting global health centers from throughout the United States, scheduled for November.
