Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine (Endocrinology)
Dr. Preeti Kishore is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology. Her research interest has been in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and the Insulin resistance syndrome. She is interested in investigating the pathogenic role of free fatty acids in various aspects of T2DM, particularly the role they play in the regulating “glucose effectiveness”. She is also interested in the role of adipose tissue inflammation in the pathogenesis of the metabolic syndrome. Dr. Kishore is the recipient of the prestigious Henry Christian Award of the American Federation of Medical Research and her research is currently supported by the National Institutes of Health and Diabetes Action Research and Education Foundation. In addition to research, she actively participates in the teaching of endocrine fellows, medical residents and medical students.
