Professional Interests

Dr. Sigal attended medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. After residencies in Pathology at the University of Pennsylvania and in Medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital in New York, he completed a Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a Hepatology Fellowship at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Samuel Sigal is a transplant hepatologist specializing in all areas of liver disease, including acute and chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, and its complications, including ascites, hepatic encephalopathy, hepatocellular carcinoma. He is Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Clinical Director of Hepatology at the Moses Division at the Montefiore Center, and a key member of the Liver Transplant Program. His research interests include treatment of viral hepatitis, ascites, hepatic encephalopathy, and hepatorenal syndrome. His practice locations include the Moses Medical Center, 1250 Waters Place off the Hutchinson River Parkway, and 60 West 68th Street in Manhattan.
