Dr. Nichola Davis is an Attending Physician in the North Bronx Healthcare Network, and an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, and in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health, Division of Behavioral and Nutritional Research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Davis began her career as a clinician-educator at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NYC. Motivated by the high rates of obesity and diabetes she witnessed in her clinical practice, and the need for research within inner city communities, she pursued additional training in research methodology and completed a Master of Science in Clinical Research Methods at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2003.

Dr. Davis’s research and clinical work focuses primarily on addressing obesity among low-income African-American and Latino communities particularly among those with diabetes.  Her current research emphasizes understanding the impact of obesity-related national policies on inner-city communities. She firmly believes that helping people to lead healthier lifestyles could substantially improve many of the healthcare problems in her community, and is committed to finding ways to teach about and encourage healthier lifestyles through her work.

The recipient of grants from the American Heart Association and the National Institute of Health, Dr. Davis has received a Congressional Achievement Award and Community Service Award for her work in the Bronx community and was honored with a "Rock Star of Science Award" from the American Heart Association.  She is an active member of several professional organizations, and was inducted into the Davidoff Society at Einstein for her excellence in clinical teaching.

Dr. Davis is board certified in internal medicine and practices at North Central Bronx Hospital where she is a Co-Director for the Adult Weight Management Clinic. She has authored several book chapters and research articles on obesity and diet, and is a teacher and mentor to students at Einstein.
