Dr. Paul R. Gittens is a board certifed urologist and assistant professor and the director of sexual dysfunction, male fertility and andrology at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He received his postgraduate general surgery and urological surgery training at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Dr. Gittens went on to complete one of the most highly regarded fellowships in reproductive medicine and microsurgery in Houston, Texas at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Gittens is an expert in the field of male fertility—encompassing microscopic vasectomy reversal, microscopic testicular sperm extraction, microsurgical varicocele repair, and the more complicated epididymovasosotomy. He also treats complicated hormone disturbances that cause infertility.
He is an expert in the treatment of sexual dysfunction; these areas include erectile dysfunction, the placement of penile implants, Peyronie’s disease, premature ejaculation, and penile rehabilitation after radical prostatectomy and radiation therapy. Dr. Gittens treats a wide range of abnormalities that include: low testosterone, and variety of other hormonal abnormalities. He also treats men with a history of anabolic steroid use that have problems with infertility, decrease libido and sexual function.
Dr. Gittens has worked internationally and is an active member of the American Urological Association, International Society of Sexual Medicine, Sexual Medicine Society of North America, Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrine Society, and American Society of Reproductive Medicine. He has made significant contributions to the urological literature through publications, as a lecturer, and as a reviewer of text books and an international journal.
Dr. Gittens is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. He also possesses the most current knowledge in the field of urology, male fertility, sexual dysfunction and hormone replacement.
