Dr. Belinda J. Anderson, Ph.D.

Belinda J. Anderson, Ph.D.

Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Family and Social Medicine

Professional Interests

Dr. Anderson earned her PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Sydney (Australia), her Masters in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (New England School of Acupuncture, NESA, Boston, MA), and her Masters in Higher Education from Teachers College Columbia University. Dr. Anderson has over 20 years of administrative, clinical, research and teaching experience. Previous research positions were at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and at NESA in collaboration with Harvard Medical School. Dr. Anderson is currently the Academic Dean and Research Director at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (NY), the largest college of Chinese medicine in the US with campuses in New York, San Diego and Chicago. She is an Associate Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Bronx, NY) and maintains a private practice at New York University Fertility Center. Dr. Anderson is widely published, serves as an editor for several complementary and alternative medical journals, and is co-chair of the Research Working Group of the Academic Collaborative for Integrative Health (ACIH, formerly ACCAHC). In 2013 she was awarded an NIH/NCCIH K07 career development award to develop evidence-based medicine curriculum for faculty training and in the Masters and doctoral programs at PCOM-NY. She is also a co-investigator on two other research projects - an acupuncture clinical trial funded by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and an MD residency training program in wellness and prevention funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
