Professional Interests

Carol Hnetila,DO is a Child Psychiatrist with interests in ADHD and the early treatment of Childhood Mental Health Disorders. She is  also the Medical Director of the Child Outpatient Psychiatry Department, Moses Division, Montefiore Medical Center located at 3340 Bainbridge Avenue. Dr. Hnetila completed her psychiatry residency and child psychiatry fellowship at St Vincent's Medical Center, NY, NY after being commissioned in the US Public Health Service for three years. During that time she served as an intern at the US Public Health Hospital in Staten Island, NY and then worked as a general practioner for the National Health Service Corp in the greater New York area.  She graduated from DesMoines University with her DO degree after obtaining a Masters in Experimental Pyschology from Saint Louis University and Bachelors of Science in Human Development from Cornell University.

Dr. Hnetila joined Albert Einstein College of Medicina in 1990 after working several years each at Manhattan Children's Pychiatric Center as Director of the Adolescent Day Hospital and Brookdale Medical Center where she worked in both the outpatient child psychiatry department as well as being the consultant for inpatient pediatrics.

Dr. Hnetila has been active in coordinating the outpatient experience for Einstein Psychiatry Residents and Child Psychiatry Fellows.  She is a member of the Einstein Child Psychiatry Executive Training Committee, Child Psychiatry Clinical Competency Committee and the PGY 3 Biannual Resident Review Committee.  Additionally she is the Chairperson of the Child Psychiatry Qualtiy Improvement Committee and a longstanding member of the Department of Psychiatry Quality Improvement Committer.
