Professional Interests

Mindy Ginsberg has worked in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health for over 30 years. As the Director of the Epidemiology Informatics and Study Management Unit, she has built and directed a successful unit which specializes in the development of comprehensive web-based Study Management Informatics Systems (SMIS) which administer study protocols and monitor all phases of single center and multi-center research studies and clinical trials. Ms. Ginsberg has extensive experience in the overall design, implementation and management of research management systems including involvement in study operations management, quality assurance, electronic data capture, protocol monitoring, reporting services, data integration infrastructure, establishment of collaborative research portals and basic descriptive analyses.  She provides oversight and guidance for HIPAA compliance, data governance and security protocols; in addition, she establishes data management policies according to emerging standards to ensure that data integrity, best practices and data security are maintained for all projects.  She has also developed new data extraction, data sharing and data analysis initiatives at Einstein which maximize the potential for collaboration between investigators thereby enhancing their ability to conduct research. Ms. Ginsberg has served as an instructor in the MSc course offered through the Clinical Research Training Program and she collaborates with faculty members on the development and subsequent implementation of grant proposals and study-related documentation and actively participates in scientific publication development. As Operations Director of the Epidemiology Informatics Shared Resource (EISR), Ms. Ginsberg is responsible for all operational and technical decisions for the EISR.
