**Not Available to Visiting Students**

This elective introduces the student to the use of Nuclear Medicine diagnostic modalities, which are heavily based in the physical sciences, including physics, mathematics, electronics and computer science.  During the course of this elective, the student will receive didactic instruction in the related basic sciences. There will also be sessions devote to the biological effects of internally administered isotopes as well as the important aspects of radiation protection. The student will participate in the usual organ imaging procedures and will take part in all discussions concerned with the interpretation of the results so as to obtain an understanding of the relationship between the study and the diagnostic problems as presented to the clinician.
