CV and Resume Clinic

Job, fellowship and grant application processes require the design of compelling CVs or resumes. Einstein’s CV and resume clinic for graduate students and postdocs will help you to refine your documents.

In the US a CV (Curriculum Vitae (Latin), “Course of my Life’) is mainly used to apply for scientific or research positions in academia and education. Also, when applying for a fellowship or grant usually a CV format is recommended.
The resume is widely used when applying for industry or other non-academic positions. A resume is 1-2 pages long whereas a CV has no page limit.

Both documents include name, contact information, education, and (professional) experience. For further information, download the CV and resume templates for PhDs.

Prepare your document(s). You can receive individual feedback by registering for a 15 minutes time slot at the next CV/resume clinic. After successful registration you will be asked to submit your CV/resume 5 days prior to the individual feedback session. The reviewer will bring the critiqued document to the session. We recommend that you bring a printed version of your document, too.
