Graduates from the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) have historically gone onto great medical and academic careers.
Of the 225 MSTP graduates who have completed postgraduate training, 80% are engaged in biomedical research and academic medicine. They hold faculty appointments at 53 medical schools, academic medical centers, NIH and the FDA. Others have obtained positions at pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Collectively, the graduates have published >10,000 papers, for an average of ~53 publications/graduate. In addition, they hold 153 patents. Thus, by a variety of measures they have gone on to highly successful careers.
