The Office of Faculty Development currently offers a number of faculty development sessions designed to enhance the skills of our faculty as medical educators and has sponsored successful sessions which include:
- Giving Feedback using the “feedback sandwich.”
- A session targeting hospitalists, entitled Teaching on a Busy Inpatient Ward", which reviewed many tools and techniques; such as the micro skills and the RIME technique.
- The Assessment of Learning series covering topics on "Writing and Evaluating Multiple-Choice Questions for Tests", "Incorporating Formative Assessment into Teaching", and "Challenges in Assessment".
- Annual Summer Intensive Program, A full-day Summer Institute proposed to introduce faculty new to medical education (those who began teaching within the past five years).
The Office works closely with the Faculty Development Task Force to encourage the faculty's excellence in medical education by providing programs that support innovation in educators.
