University Scholars Clinical and Research Fellowships

Health Equity

A joint fellowship opportunity is offered through the Department of Psychiatry at Montefiore/Einstein and the Health Equity Research Lab at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School under the direction of Drs. Benjamin Cook and Jonathan Alpert. The Health Equity Research Lab is a research center dedicated to reducing health and health care disparities through developing and rigorously evaluating clinical and policy interventions, engaging community members, and mobilizing system transformation. This fellowship provides an opportunity to link research at two urban healthcare centers committed to health equity, capitalizing upon the methodological expertise, rich tradition of applied social medicine, and strong existing community and patient relationships at both sites. Primarily located at Montefiore/Einstein, the fellow will have affiliations at both institutions, participate in regular Lab meetings and research projects, and receive mentorship from Dr. Cook, Dr. Alpert, and additional senior scientists based on the applicant’s interests. Candidates with expertise and publications in community based participatory research, implementation research, and/or hospital-based electronic health record analysis are encouraged to apply. The position includes benefits and a salary well above the standard NIH stipend for postdoctoral trainees.
