Dr. Bruce Schwartz is an expert in the treatment of affective disorders and psychopharmacology, with a national reputation in behavioral health economics and service delivery. He serves as the President of the Montefiore Behavioral Care Integrated Provider Association and is the President, Chief Executive Officer, Medical Director and founding member of University Behavioral Associates, a not-for-profit behavioral health management services organization.
Dr. Schwartz is a consultant and past-chair of the APA Council of Healthcare Systems and Financing, as well as a member of numerous organizations and committees including the Greater New York Hospital Association’s Mental Health/Substance Abuse Services Committee, the New York Academy of Medicine’s Committee on Admission and Membership, and the American Hospital Association’s Governing Council of the Section for Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Services of which he is Chair-elect. He currently chairs the Mental Health Association of New York City’s Professional Advisory Board and serves on its Board of Directors.
Dr. Schwartz has been regularly selected by Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors and by New York Magazine as a Best Doctor. He is the Program Director of the Annual Chief Residents Leadership Conference which will be celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2012, and was recently chosen to be the 2012 chair of the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Section for Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Services.
