New Faces

Fabiane Matos dos SantosFabiane Matos dos Santos, PhD, a Visiting Scientist from the Federal University of Espirito Santo (FUES) in Brazil, arrived at Einstein in November 2016. Dr. Matos dos Santos specializes in immunoparasitology and clinical nutrition. She will spend a year in the laboratory of Herbert Tanowitz, where she is learning new techniques for studying the interplay between chagas infection and diet, with a specific focus on adipose tissue in fat cells. She looks forward to sharing what she learns at Einstein with her colleagues at FUES.

 

 Sangeetha thangaswamySangeetha Thangaswamy, PhD, started on February 1 as a Research Associate in the laboratory of Dr. Laura Santambrogio. She will be investigating the immunological role of lymphatic endothelial cells. Before joining Dr. Santambrogio’s laboratory she was a research fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Seetharama Achraya in the Department of Hematology. Dr. Thanaswamy earned her doctorate in chemistry with a specialization in cardovascular physiology and pharmacology from the Satara University School of Chemical and Biotechnology in India in 2009.
