The 2013 Department of Pathology Research Retreat took place on Tuesday, June 4, on a glorious spring day at the New York Botanical Garden. Following a new format, the day began with oral presentations by Tadakimi Tomita (predoctoral fellow), Seaho Kim (research fellow), Dr. Won-Jae Huh (PFY-2 resident), and Dionna Williams (predoctoral fellow). After a buffet lunch and lively conversation, invited guest speaker Peter D. Canoll, MD, PhD, associate professor of Pathology & Cell Biology, Columbia University, presented his research: “Tracking the Origins of Glioblastoma.” The exciting day-long retreat ended with a two-hour poster session, where twenty-six graduate students and postdocs presented their latest pathology research.
