BRONX, NY - March 16, 2015 - The Departments of Medicine and Family & Social Medicine proudly announce the joint appointment of Drs. Erin Goss and Shwetha Iyer for the track directorship for the Montefiore Einstein Primary Care/Social Internal Medicine Program (PC/SIM) within the residency programs in Social Medicine, effective April 1, 2015.

Both graduates of the PC/SIM program, Drs. Iyer and Goss bring a passion and a commitment to the program’s varied missions. The PC/SIM program prepares general internists to provide care for marginalized and underserved populations. Residents train side-by-side with faculty, providing care to an indigent urban and immigrant community in the South Bronx. Additionally, they participate in community- and health-center-based advocacy, service, and research projects that aim to improve the health of patients. Program graduates go on to pursue careers as leaders in primary care, internal medicine, education, administration, research, and advocacy.

A graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, Dr. Goss completed the PC/SIM program in 2012 and is now involved in the physical diagnosis and clinical reasoning curricula within the program, as well as coordinating resident HIV patient care and curriculum at the CHCC clinic.
