Advanced Endoscopy Developments
The Montefiore Advanced Endoscopy Center recently received an Endoscopy Unit Recognition Award from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) for meeting quality practices and standards.
The ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program promotes quality in endoscopy by encouraging endoscopy offices, centers and units to adhere to ASGE guidelines on privileging, quality assurance, endoscopy reprocessing, and infection control.
Additionally, the Montefiore Advanced Endoscopy Center will participate in the GI Quality Improvement Consortium (GiQuIC), an educational and scientific organization established by physicians specializing in gastroenterology to improve the quality of medical care--specifically, endoscopic procedures--given to patients throughout the United States and abroad.
