Kamholz, Hatcher to Assume New Roles in Administration

Dr. Stephan Kamholz has returned to the Bronx as Chair of the Department of Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center and will serve as the Assistant Dean for the North Bronx Healthcare Network. In this capacity, he will oversee the education of Einstein medical students at Jacobi and work to foster collaborative research between the Jacobi‐ and Einstein‐based faculty. 

Dr. Kamholz has had a distinguished career serving first as Chair of Medicine at SUNY Downstate from 1993‐2000 and since then as Chair of Medicine at North Shore‐LIJ. He first joined the Einstein faculty in 1978 as a pulmonary physician at Montefiore for nine years. A medical graduate of New York Medical College, Dr. Kamholz trained in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine at Montefiore and has continued to maintain a highly distinguished career with numerous publications and international presentations.

Victor Hatcher, PhD 

Dr. Victor Hatcher will add to his responsibilities as Associate Dean for Continuing Medical Education (CME) by becoming the Associate Dean for CME and Research Administration. His new responsibilities will focus on developing the interface between Einstein and Montefiore in the areas of clinical and translational research spotlighted by the strategic plans of our two institutions. 

Dr. Hatcher, a Ph.D. biochemist from McGill with postdoctoral experience at Harvard, has been a professor at Einstein since 1988 and directed Montefiore’s Office of Research and Sponsored Programs since 1994. He became Associate Dean for CME in 2000 and serves the College of Medicine as a member of numerous committees including Admissions, Patent and the Embryonic Stem Cell Oversight Committee.
