Sanjeev Gupta Receives Endowed Chair

Sanjeev Gupta, MD, MBBS (Division of Hepatology) has been named the Eleazar and Feige Reicher Chair in Translational Medicine in recognition of his achievements and contributions to the College of Medicine.
Dr. Gupta's laboratory focuses on the development of liver cell-based therapies and relevant aspects of stem cell biology, with the goal of understanding mechanisms by which transplanted cells engraft, proliferate and function in the liver, obtaining insights into cell-cell interactions that may alter the fate of transplanted cells, and addressing the potential of liver cell types that might improve liver repopulation.
Dr. Gupta is the Program Director for Translational Technologies and Resources for the Harold and Muriel Block Institute for Clinical and Translational Research at Einstein and Montefiore and Associate Program Director of the General Clinical Research Center.
