Peter Tenore, Les Bernstein Honored for Excellence
Dr. Peter Tenore (General Internal Medicine and Division of Substance Abuse, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences) received an award from the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) as "Addiction Physician of the Year." The award was presented at the 11th annual conference of the State's Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Providers, held this past week in New York. Dr. Tenore is a graduate of Montefiore's Social Internal Medicine Residency Program, and has been working in the substance abuse field for over two decades.
The Dean's Teaching Awards Selection Committee has chosen Dr. Leslie Bernstein (Gastroenterology) to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Teaching. It is well deserved for his many, many years of extraordinary teaching of Einstein's physicians in the making. Dr. Bernstein will be recognized at the commencement ceremony on June 2nd where he will receive the award from the Dean.
