Strong Match for Dermatology Residency Program
The Einstein-Montefiore Division of Dermatology had another excellent match for its 2009-2010 residency program, ranking 33 candidates and going only to #5 on its list to obtain three house staff, including its #2 choice.
During "the Match," a blinded competitive process for access to graduate medical training residencies, applicants and residency programs submit lists of their respective preferences to the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). The NMRP creates optimal matches of residents to programs, and the results are announced during Match Day ceremonies at medical schools throughout the U.S. Both applicants and residency program are contractually obligated to honor the match.
The 3-year Einstein-Montefiore Dermatology Residency Training Program leads to eligibility for certification by the American Board of Dermatology. Strengths of the Einstein-Montefiore Dermatology Residency include exposure to a diverse range of pediatric and adult cutaneous disorders and treatmentsthrough clinical rotations at hospitals throughout the Bronx; specialty clinical training in dermatologic surgery, HIV, pediatrics, phototherapy, and dermatopathology; and opportunities for intensive clinical and translational research, including dermatopharmacology.
