Dr. Eric Epstein is Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine (Endocrinology) and Medical Director of the Department of Medicine Faculty Practice. He completed medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Epstein holds endocrine certification in neck ultrasound, with expertise in thyroid ultrasound and fine needle aspiration biopsy of the thyroid gland. His clinical work focuses primarily on thyroid cancer. He runs the Montefiore Medical Center Thyroid Cancer tumor board and the Endocrine systems course for second-year medical students at Einstein.

Objectives - After attending this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Comprehend the importance of modifiers used for routine services done alongside E&M service
  2. Describe the process by which improved coding reduces edits and denials for services

Accreditation: Albert Einstein College of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
