Professional Interests

Dr. Meholli is an Academic Hospitalist, Palliative Care Physician, as well as an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency at Jacobi Medical Center. Dr. Meholli is a graduate of Jacobi Medical Center Residency Program and served as a Chief Resident for the academic year 2009-2010.

 Dr. Meholli is an Albanian, originally from Kosovo, former Yugoslavia. She moved to the US during high school and earned her B.S. in Biochemistry at Northeastern University, followed by medical school education at the Medical School for International Health(MSIH) at Ben Gurion University in collaboration with Columbia University, in Beersheva, Israel. 

 Dr. Meholli’s main passion is teaching of medical students and residents. As an intern she won the Leo M. Davidoff Society “Outstanding Achievement in Teaching of Medical Students Award” at Einstein and was awarded the distinguished excellence in teaching award by the Jacobi Medical Center Housestaff for the academic years 2012 to 2013 and 2014 to 2015.  

Dr. Meholli served as the Medicine Sub-Internship Site Leader from 2010-2012, and is now the Medicine Clerkship Site Leader since October of 2012. In May of 2015 Dr. Meholli was nominated by the medical students to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (AOA) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was also enrolled in the Leo M. Davidoff Society of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Her special interests include Health and Human Rights, Global Health, Cross-Cultural Medicine, Narrative Medicine, Palliative Care and Bioethics. Dr. Meholli completed the Montefiore-Einstein Certificate Program in Bioethics and Medical Humanities in May 2011.  She serves as an active member of the Ethics Committee at Jacobi Medical Center, as well as a facilitator for Bioethics 1, Bioethics 2 and Patient, Doctors and Community (PDC) courses for the AECOM medical students.
