In the PGYI, approximately 70% of the curriculum is devoted to inpatient care (general medicine and special care wards and ICUs), and approximately 30% to ambulatory care in the intern's continuity clinic and in special seminars devoted to the principles of ambulatory care, ambulatory care in the ER, and to subspecialty clinics.
Rotations
Ambulatory Care
In PGYI, all categorical interns have 2 ambulatory care rotations, 1 in each half year, which feature diverse curricula in ambulatory clinical medicine, psychosocial/behavioral medicine, physical diagnosis, and clinical experience.
The following teaching sessions are incorporated into each ACR week in the PGYI ACR:
- 4 ambulatory morning rounds (AMRs)
- 1 physical diagnosis round (3 hours)
- 1 psychosocial seminar (3 hours)
- 4 noon clinical conferences
- 1 Medicine grand rounds

Preliminary Internship
