Procedural Skills

  1. Become acquainted with the instrument and technologic requirements for Hemodialysis, Peritoneal dialysis, CVVH, and Charcoal Hemoperfusion;
  2. Indications for and technique of insertion of temporary vascular access for hemodialysis;
  3. Indications for and technique of percutaneous renal biopsy (native and transplanted) using automatic release biopsy needles under CT scan and ultrasound;
  4. Performance of and interpretation of urinalysis;
  5. Application and interpretation of renal ultrasound to evaluate native and transplanted kidneys, including doppler signals;
  6. Indications for, patient selection for, and complications of lithotripsy.
