Fellows with a career goal of ongoing research are encouraged to continue in a third year or more of research by matriculation agreement. Fellows may elect this third year provided funding is available to support their project, salary, and benefits.
These fellows have no clinic or patient care requirement, but continue to participate in Journal Club, Research Seminars, Renal Grand Rounds and other course work.
This third year can also include, if accepted, enrollment into the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Masters of Science program in Clinical Research and Epidemiology. This track is strongly encouraged for fellows with goals to be academic clinical educators and researchers. Matriculation into this track is competitive and limited.
